Check pollution
A year ago, the factory started manufacturing cement blocks from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The cement dust and other particles, and the loud noise of the machinery have become intolerable. The frequent movement of heavy vehicles adds to the problem. Senior citizens, children, and women are the main victims of the health hazards such as irritability in the eyes, respiratory problems, restlessness, and so on caused by the pollution. The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board should look into the matter and see that remedial action is taken at the earliest. R.V. Joshi and seven others, Ashwath Nagar, Bangalore.
