MANGALORE, FEB. 29. Five persons were killed and nine injured in two separate road accidents on National Highway 48 on Saturday. The police said that three persons were killed and seven injured in a collision between a lorry and two cars near B. C. Road. In an attempt to overtake a vehicle, the lorry hit a tourist car which collided with another tourist car. Three persons in one of the tourist cars died in the collision. In another accident at Sattikallu, Kedila village, two persons were killed when a Maruti car and a private bus collided. The dead were identified as Tanvir (25) and Abdul Rahiman (26) who were travelling by the car from Bangalore to Mangalore. Two persons in the car were injured. Their names were given as Asif and Ajij. They were believed to be the residents of Airport Road in Bangalore.
