THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 29. The UDF members in the City Corporation Council will stage a dharna in front of the Corporation headquarters at Palayam on Monday to press their demand to step up preventive measures against the outbreak of malaria. A press note quoting the UDF parliamentary party leader, K.Maheswaran Nair, here today said the Corporation administration had failed to take up mosquito control activities despite sustained pressure from councillors. It urged the local body to launch a ward-level campaign to check the spread of the epidemic. The statement said the KPCC general secretary, Thalekunnil Basheer, would inaugurate the dharna.
