CUDDAPAH, MARCH. 1. Twenty-six aspirants including some former MLAs forwarded their applications on Monday seeking allotment of Congress ticket for the Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies in the district. The Congress sold 54 applications, costing Rs. 100 each, at the DCC office, Indira Bhavan, here on the first day of the three-day sale, according to the DCC president, Shaik Hussain. The Cuddapah member in the dissolved Lok Sabha, Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, was the sole applicant for the Cuddapah Lok Sabha seat, while the former MP, A. Sai Prathap, and the former mandal president, B. Chengalarayudu, applied for the Rajampet Lok Sabha ticket. Those who applied for Congress tickets are: Cuddapah Assembly constituency -- former APCO chairman and Cuddapah constituency convenor, Bandi Hanmanthu; Municipal Chairman, Md. Ahmedullah and PCC member, M. Ashok. Rajampet -- former MLA, K. Prabhavathamma and district Youth Congress vice-president, A. Amarnath Reddy. Kodur -- former MLAs, V. Chennaiah, P. Penchalaiah and former Kodur constituency incharge, Gunti Venkateswara Prasad. The former MLA, M. Narayana Reddy, was the sole applicant from Rayachoti constituency while Putha Narasimha Reddy was the lone applicant for Kamalapuram segment. The former Samithi president, Gadikota Mohan Reddy, his son, G. Srikanth Reddy, and another aspirant, Chandrasekhar Reddy, applied for the ticket for Lakkireddipalle constituency. No applications were received from Jammalamadugu, Proddatur and Badvel constituencies.
