Cultural policing

Sir, — This refers to the Maharashtra Government ban on persons below 21 years entering pubs, beer bars and permit rooms (Feb. 26). Let it be known that even in the United States, the age limit for entry into bars is 21 years. Perhaps, every society believes in cultural policing to some extent. More so on matters concerning the youth.
