B.M. Mujahid dead
By Our Special Correspondent
HUBLI,
MARCH 2.
B.M. Mujahid, the two-time Congress MP from Dharwad South, died here on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 83. He is survived by three sons. Mr. Mujahid, who was the practising advocate of Hubli, shot to fame when he rejected the appointment as the Law Minister of the Janata Government of the late Ramakrishna Hegde in 1984. It was this rejection, which influenced his selection as the Congress candidate in 1989 and he retained the seat in 1991.
