`Set up women's commission'

PONDICHERRY, MARCH 2 . About 130 volunteers of the National Federation of Women were arrested when they staged a road roko at the municipal terminal at Orleanpet today.

They were demanding that the Administration initiate steps to constitute a women's commission and take steps to prevent dowry harassment.

Among those who felicitated the agitators included the former minister, R. Viswanathan, and the Pondicherry State Communist Party of India Committee Secretary, N. Kalainathan.
