Collector inspects labour, urology wards

VELLORE, MARCH 2. The Collector, A.C.Mohandoss, today made an inspection of the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital and the various offices in the `A' and `B' blocks of the Collectorate here and heard the grievances of patients and employees.

The Collector first went to the hospital and inspected the paediatric, women, labour and urology wards. He later visited the Sexually-Transmitted Diseases consultation centre and Siddha hospital, heard the grievances of the patients and urged the Dean, Thamizharasi to redress them. He also had discussions with functionaries of the Rotary Club, which has offered to adopt the paediatric ward. The Resident Medical Officer, Padma, orthopaedic surgeon, Pugazhendhi and R.Meenakshisundaram of the Rotary Club of Vellore Mid-Town accompanied the Collector.

Later, the collector visited the various offices in the Collectorate and carried out inspections, especially of the availability of drinking water facilities and sitting accommodation for the employees.

He assured the employees to redress their grievances regarding drinking water supply and additional space.
