DINDIGUL, MARCH 2 . While 13,724 boys and girls from 97 schools will appear for the higher secondary examinations, 19,863 students including girls from 221 schools will take the SSLC examinations in the district. The Collector, P. Senthil Kumar, in a release here, said elaborate arrangements had been made to conduct the Plus-Two examinations from March 10 and the SSLC examinations from April 1. About 36 centres for the higher secondary examinations and 60 for the SSLC and Matric examinations had been set up in Palani and Dindigul educational districts. Security would be beefed up in all 12 answer sheets stock rooms. Officials along with armed police force would undertake transportation of answer sheets to all examination halls in the two educational districts from stock room. Separate flying squads comprising staff in educational department and another squad led by revenue officials had been constituted for monitoring examinations. Steps were taken to post police personnel in each examination centre. The Collector said officials had been instructed to provide all basic amenities such as drinking water, power supply and toil facilities. The Collector, the Revenue Divisional Officer, the District Revenue Officer and tahsildars would inspect centres independently. Police team would also simultaneously monitor examination centres.
