Congress receives 367 applications

GUNTUR, MARCH 2. The Guntur District Congress Committee received 367 applications from ticket aspirants for 19 Assembly constituencies and four Lok Sabha constituencies at the end of the second day of the process on Tuesday.

The DCC had sold 616 application forms in total and of the applications 355 were for Assembly constituencies with Guntur-II topping the list with 43 applicants followed by Bapatla with 40 and for Duggirala there were only three applicants.

Twelve applications were received for the four Lok Sabha constituencies with the former Guntur MP, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, also staking claim for Guntur ticket.

The former Bapatla MP, S. Benjamin, and Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, are among the prominent people who submitted their application forms.

The DCC president, Rayapati Srinivas, filed application for four constituencies including Pratipad, and Kanna Lakshminarayana has sought ticket from Pedakurpadu from where he has won three consecutive times.
