Republican Party to contest two seats

HYDERABAD, MARCH 2. The Andhra Pradesh unit of the Republican Party of India has decided to contest in alliance with the Congress two Assembly seats -- Mummidivaram and Allavaram (both SC) -- in East Godavari district, according to a statement issued by P. Purushotham, general secretary.

He said on Tuesday that a delegation of the RPI had met Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and N. Janardhana Reddy and represented the party's plea. The Congress leaders suggested the party to approach the APCC president, D. Srinivas.
