NALGONDA, MARCH 2. Two minor girls were killed and 10 others were grievously injured when a lorry collided with the tractor on which they were travelling at Mainapally village in Devarakonda mandal last night. According to the police, Boda Padma (15) and Savva Salamma (16), both milkmaids, died on the spot in the mishap. While three other girls -- Neela Mutyalamma, Peddulamma and Kavadi Padma -- were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital at Hyderabad with severe injuries, four others were rushed to the Devarakonda hospital. The condition of three injured was said to be critical. All the girls were returning to their native village, Madamadaka, after supplying milk to teashops and households in Devarakonda town. The victims were thrown out of the tractor in the impact of the jolt after their tractor was hit by the wood-laden lorry. The Devarakonda DSP, K.Buchiram Reddy visited the spot. The lorry driver was taken into custody.
