CHANDIGARH, MARCH 2. The notification for the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana would be issued on April 16 and the nominations would be made between April 16 and 23 and scrutiny would take place on April 24. According to the Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Urvashi Gulati, the last date for withdrawal of candidature would be April 26 and poll would take place on May 10. The counting would be done on May 13 and election process would be completed on May 25. She disclosed that as per the direction of the Election Commission of India, electronic voting machines would be used in all the Parliamentary constituencies. With the announcement of elections on February 29, the Model Code of Conduct had come into force with immediate effect. Instructions regarding the strict compliance of the Model Code of Conduct had been issued to the Administrative Secretaries of all the departments, Deputy Commissioners and political parties. She said that the Haryana Election Department had made all necessary arrangements for various stages of the election process in the State. The electoral rolls in the State had been revised by taking January 1, 2004 as the qualifying date. There were 1,22,43,210 general and 62,991 service voters in the State. The total number of voters was 1,23,06,201 out of which 56,52,269 were women.
