It will fuel communal passions, says Paswan

By Our Special correspondent

NEW DELHI, MARCH 2 . The Lok Janshakti Party president, Ram Vilas Paswan, has charged the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, with trying to arouse communal passions through his proposed bus yatra.

At a press conference here today, he appealed to the people to remain vigilant and not fall prey to attempts to polarise the polity on communal lines. The LJP president said Mr. Advani should resign before embarking on the yatra.

"He cannot continue as the Deputy Prime Minister and also indulge in such a controversial political stunt," he said, and asked the Union Government to ensure that attempts to arouse communal passions in the country were not allowed to succeed.

"The Central Government must not allow the law and order to break down", he added.

PTI reports from Patna

The RJD president, Laloo Prasad Yadav, today termed Mr. Advani's proposed yatra as yet another attempt to incite communal passions during elections and said the BJP leader would not be allowed to get political mileage out of it.
