Power supply disruption

KOCHI, MARCH 2. Power supply will be disrupted in areas between Thammanam junction and Ponnurunni railway gate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to an official communication of the KSEB.

Bus employees' charge

The Private Bus Thozhilali Federation has taken exception to the decision of the Road Safety Committee to divert private buses through South Kalamassery. This will result in an increase in accidents at the TVS Junction, the general secretary of the federation, Joy Joseph, said in a press release here. The buses were being diverted through South Kalamassery to please a section of shopkeepers there, he alleged.

Symposium on women

The Kochi Refineries Limited will organise a symposium on March 8 at the Avenue Center, as part of the observance of International Women's Day. The topic will be `Women and the winds of change'. The focus will be on `Career and family: the dilemma facing women' and `Indian women - from darkness to light'. Delegates from PSUs, Government departments, NGOs, schools and colleges are expected to participate in the symposium. For details, call 2722061 or 2706100.

Awareness meeting

The All-India Bank Customers' Association held a public interaction at Angamaly to spread awareness about the banking Ombudsman scheme. The State Banking Ombudsman, P. Krishnamoorthy, was among those who were present.
