TRS-Congress pact unholy: TDP

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 3. The district unit of the Telugu Desam Party has demanded that the Congress disclose its stand on the Telangana issue and its `unholy' alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the TDP district president, Gandra Venkateshwara Rao, the former MLAs, E. Peddi Reddy and S. Devaiah asked the Congress to disclose why the Telangana region was neglected even after former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, had contested from Medak parliament segment.

They demanded that the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, clarify whether she was refuting Indira Gandhi's statement on development of Telangana region in united Andhra Pradesh.

They asked the TRS president, K. Chandrashekhar Rao. to clarify on his stand on contesting only from 42 Assembly and 6 parliament seats in the region.

They also asked whether the TRS would return the application fee collected from all the segments to the candidates.

They claimed that the Telangana region developed only during the TDP regime by taking up development of new roads, hospitals, schools etc in the rural areas.

The TDP district leaders, Bonala Rajesham, G. Kamalakar, G. Nalini, R. Usha Rani, Eda Shankar Reddy and others were present.
