2 children drowned in Velachery pond

CHENNAI, MARCH 3. Two brothers drowned in a pond near their home at Velachery on Tuesday.

The Velachery police said M. Rajendran and his wife left for work, leaving their children at home on Marudapandi Street.

When they returned in the evening, the children were missing. The couple lodged a complaint with the Velachery police station.

Residents noticed the bodies of two children floating in the pond and alerted the police personnel, who arrived at the spot and retrieved the bodies of Nagaraj (6), and Prasad (4).
