No power

COIMBATORE, MARCH. 3. There will be no power supply in the following places on March 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. owing to shutdown of Annur substation for maintenance work: Annur, Kuppapalayam, Odderpalayam, Kembanacikenpalayam, Kariyampalayam, Paduvampalli, Pogalur, Ganesapuram and Pasur.

Exhibition

The Department of Posts will organise a district-level philatelic exhibition, `Kovaipex 2004', from March 4 to 6 in the city. According to a release, a philately workshop and `design a stamp' contest will be organised for schoolchildren on March 4. Letter-writing and quiz competitions will be held on March 5.

Mela

Shanti Ashram will celebrate `Mahalir Mela 2004' on March 5 on the Ashram premises to mark the International Women's Day. According to a release, during the programme, members of women self-help groups will share their experiences on their income generation activities through exhibitions, cultural programmes and presentations. The Shanti Ashram SHGs' database will also be inaugurated.

Programme

The Coimbatore Sree Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Chinmaya Mission, and the Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage will jointly organise a `Geetha Gnana Yagna' (in Malayalam) from March 7 to 13. According to a release, the programme will be held at the Sree Ayyappa Temple in New Siddhapudur.

Seminar

The Coimbatore District Employment Exchange will organise a career guidance exhibition-cum-seminar on March 5 at Kongunadu Arts and Science College, according to a release.

Work week

The Department of Social Work of Karpagam Arts and Science College has organised a field work week till March 6.

A release from the college said that as part of this programme, the students conducted a survey on "identification of disabled persons" for the District Rehabilitation Centre at Nagarajapuram and Vedapatti.

Prayer

Prayer meetings will be conducted by Bro. John Thomas at the CSI Christ Church from March 5 to 7. The meeting will commence at 6.30 p.m. on these days, according to a release.

Quiz

The PSG College of Paramedical Sciences will conduct an inter-physiotherapy collegiate quiz contest, `Focus - 2004', on March 5 at the PSG IMS and R Auditorium. The programme will commence at 8.30 a.m. with the preliminary written test, according to a release.

Dedication

The Governor, P.S. Ramamohan Rao, will dedicate the campus of Park College of Engineering and Tekhnology at Kaniyur on March 5, according to a release.
