Tusker attacks mahout

KOLLAM, MARCH 4. A tusker attacked its mahout in a sudden fit of rage at Poothakulam near here this evening.

The mahout, Ani, was badly gored in the abdomen while feeding the tusker, Mothi.

Even after being gored, the mahout, with the help of his assistant, managed to tether the tusker, before it went totally out of control.

Ani was then rushed to a private hospital where he underwent surgery.
