RAICHUR, MARCH 4. Power generation at the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) has come down by five million units since Tuesday following the shutdown of its seventh unit. Now, only six units with a capacity of 210 MW each are in operation, generating about 30 mu. of power a day. The seventh unit was shut down when the RTPS engineers found a defect in its boiler section. The boiler and turbine generator of the seventh unit was manufactured and supplied by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL).
