BANGALORE, MARCH 4. The Dasashrama International Centre Trust on Thursday moved the High Court of Karnataka challenging the termination notice on the lease of land granted to it in Rajajinagar by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP). In its petition, the trust said 8,300 square yard of land on survey nos 21/1 and 22/2 was leased to it in 1971 for 60 years by the Mahanagara Palike. The terms of the lease specified that buildings should come up in 30 per cent of the area and that they should be constructed within five years of the lease. Another condition was that a government nominee should be on the board of the trust. The trust said it had followed all the terms of the lease except one. The trust said the termination letter from the Mahanagara Palike had not been received by it. It urged the court to stay the July 7, 2003 notice. Justice Bhaktavatsala ordered issue of notices and said that status quo be maintained in the matter.
