Online lottery: Govt. stand assailed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 5. The Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, has accused the Antony Government of having done little to stop online lottery operators from taking out around Rs. 5,000 crores from the State every year.

In a statement here today, Mr. Achuthanandan said the Government had done nothing to get the December 19 High Court stay vacated on its order banning lottery in the State even after two months.
