Woman murdered by grandson

MADURAI, MARCH 5. A septuagenarian was murdered at Arasappanpatti near Melur by her grandson today.

The police said C. Munusamy (25) picked a quarrel with M. Mookayee (71) over a petty issue this evening.

In the scuffle that followed, he assaulted her with an iron rod.

She died on way to a nearby hospital. The Melur police are investigating.
