TIRUCHI, MARCH 6 . A special campaign on `Tuberculosis Preventive Measures' was organised by the National Service Scheme unit of the Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti, in association with 4/12 Coy National Cadet Corp Unit of 2 (TN) Battalion, Tiruchi, recently. Students were addressed by the Deputy Director of Tuberculosis Control Board, B. Abdul Samad. Using a Compact Disc, Dr. Abdul Samad explained that tuberculosis was curable provided the patients consumed medicines regularly. Referring to the preventive measures taken by the State Government to control the disease, he also talked about the `Directly Observed Treatment' scheme propagated by the World Health Organisation. The principal in-charge of the college, K. Natarajan, the NCC officer, K. T. Tamilmani and the NSS Programme Officer, C. Sasikumar also spoke.
