NTPC, Mumbai IIT tie-up

NEW DELHI,
MARCH 6.
The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, today entered into an agreement to promote research and development in several areas, including power distribution and renewable technology.
A company release says the NTPC and the IIT (Mumbai) will collaborate in areas such as generation, renewable technology and environmental issues, computational fluid dynamics and technology development for cost reduction.
A memorandum of understanding was signed here by Ashok Mishra, Director of IIT (Mumbai), and K.K. Sinha, Director, NTPC, today in the presence of the NTPC Chairman, C.P. Jain, and senior officials. Under the agreement, joint research will be carried out for introducing new technologies for optimum utilisation of resources, renewable energy option and environmental issues.
