NELLORE, MARCH 6. The General Manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Nellore, G. Gopi, has claimed that a number of subscribers, who earlier switched over to other services, have started coming back to BSNL because of the `best billing system.' Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the official asserted that the tariffs of BSNL were less when compared to other services. Also the network and services of BSNL were on a par with international standard. About the ongoing activities, he said that all exchanges were equipped with optic fibre for uninterrupted services. The updating of the services also ensures easy monitoring of the traffic. Except Sullurpet, there was no problem pertaining to regular congestion anywhere in the district. Also call completion ratio (CCR) was being perfectly maintained to ensure satisfaction of subscribers, he said, adding much more had to be done in this regard. The General Manager said that India Telephone Cards (ITC) were freely available in the district. Regarding extension of cell phone facility, he said that it would be extended all over the district in a phased manner. About new facilities provided by BSNL, he said that the third party transfer would be free. With a view to knowing about the functioning of phones, some phones were being monitored regularly. Asked about oustanding dues, the official said that Rs. 3 crores was due from 9,000 defaulters and steps were being taken to recover them.
