JD(U) keen to contest six seats

KOCHI, MARCH 6. The Janata Dal (United), a constituent of the NDA, is keen to contest six constituencies in the State in the coming parliamentary elections.

Announcing this at a press conference here today, the party's national executive committee member, A. S. Radhakrishnan, said that discussions for strengthening the NDA by including more political parties in the State would be held at Thiruvananthapuram on March 10.

He said the party was interested in contesting the Kozhikkode, Manjeri, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki and Chirayinkeezhu parliamentary constituencies apart from the Wadakkanchery Assembly seat. The party's northern and central regional conferences were held at Kozhikode and Kochi respectively. The southern regional conference will be held at Thiruvananthapuram on March 9.
