Plea to call off Advani's yatra

By Our Staff Reporter

THRISSUR, MARCH 6. The Deputy Prime Minister, L. K. Advani, has been urged to call of his Bharat Uday Yatra as it might cause communal problems.

Speaking to reporters here today, the general secretary of the All-India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulema, Kanthapuram A. P. Aboobacker, stated that, "This is my personal opinion and not the official view of the Ulema."

He criticised the remarks of the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, against the minorities. "Mr. Antony can correct the mistake by implementing the Narendran Commission report," Mr. Aboobacker said. Asked to comment on the reported stand of the LDF not to make the Narendran Commission report an election issue, Mr. Aboobacker said he was `yet to study the matter'.
