Legal aid clinic opened at Maramon

PATHANAMTHITTA, MARCH. 6. The Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Justice K. A. Abdul Gafoor, has said that the authority would extend every possible help to provide free legal assistance to the socially and economically backward sections of society in various parts of the State.

Justice Gafoor was inaugurating the Legal Aid Clinic sponsored by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Maramon-Chettimukku near Kozhencherry this afternoon.

According to him, those families living below the poverty line, the weaker sections of the society and women can avail the services of the clinic.

The clinic set up at the Thottappuzhassery panchayat buildings in Maramon-Chettimukku will function on all Wednesdays. The people residing in the six panchayat limits of Puramattom, Koipram Thottappuzhasserry, Ayroor, Eraviperoor and Ezhumatoor coming under the Koipram Block panchayat. The District Judge, S.Sainuddin, who is also the DLSA chairman, presided over the inaugural function. The Chief Judicial Magistrate, S. Sarikadevi, the Sub-Judge, K. Muhammedali, the Deputy Director of Prosecution, Salim Kambisserry, public prosecutor, Jacob Eranickal, the NOCER-India general secretary, Rameswari Amma, the Koipram Block Panchayat president, K.P. Radhakutty Amma, Thottappuzhaserry panchayat president, A. Anilkumar and Mr. G.M. Idicula also spoke at the function.
