Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, MARCH 6. About 1,000 Pondicherry Youth Congress volunteers today sent individual telegrams to the party president, Sonia Gandhi, urging her to let the Congress go it alone in the Lok Sabha poll in the Union Territory. The youth wing president, K. Pandian, who was the first to register his telegram here, told newsmen that the Youth Congress was confident that the All-India Congress Committee would be alive to the feelings of the rank and file and their wrath against allocation of the Pondicherry seat to the Pattali Makkal Katchi in the Democratic Progressive Alliance. Youth Congress volunteers, who stood in a queue to book telegrams, carried placards of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and party flags.
