ADILABAD, MARCH 6. The Deputy Prime Minister, Lal Krishna Advani, will be given a grand welcome by the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Soan village on the Adilabad-Nizamabad district border on March 18 when he enters the district during his Bharat Uday Yatra. The yatra is expected to enter the district at 11 a.m. from Nizamabad. Detailing the preparations being made for the yatra in the district, the Adilabad BJP president, T. Narayan Reddy, the Municipal Chairman, Lala Radheshyam, and the Adilabad constituency in-charge, M. Ramana Reddy, said on Saturday that a public meeting would be held at Nirmal followed by grand receptions at Neredigonda, Ichoda and Gudihatnoor villages en route Adilabad. At about 4 p.m. a public meeting will be held at Adilabad town before the Deputy Prime Minister enters Maharashtra for his night halt at the adjoining Yavatmal district headquarters town, about 125 km from Adilabad. The BJP leaders stated that during his public meetings, Mr. Advani would speak on the achievements of the NDA Government at the Centre. Answering a question, Mr. Narayan Reddy said the party's district committee had represented to the State high command seeking allotment of any two Assembly seats and the Lok Sabha seat as part of seat adjustment with the Telugu Desam Party. He said in the event of the Lok Sabha seat not being allotted, one more Assembly seat would be sought.
