NEW DELHI, MARCH 6 . A 45-year-old Delhi police sub-inspector and a police informer, who had gone on a raid along with some other police personnel, were killed and their heads chopped off and burnt at Mangolpuri in North-West Delhi on Friday. While their charred heads were found dumped at Nangloi in West Delhi, their bodies were recovered some 3-km away in Haryana. Satish Kumar Dalal, posted with the Anti-Homicide Squad of the Crime Branch, was recently given an out-of-turn promotion. Acting on a tip-off that a car recently robbed by some Sansi gang members had been seen in the Mangolpuri area, he along with his colleagues and the informer, went to Mangolpuri to recover it and nab the culprits. The team reached there around 8-30 p.m., after which Satish offered to go for a reconnaissance with the informer, Vijay Swami, before conducting a raid. Both went to the place - nearly 100 metres away -- where the vehicle in question had been spotted. As the duo did not return, Satish's colleagues tried to contact him over his mobile phone but in vain. They then lodged a missing report at the local police station. Around 9-30 a.m. today, the Haryana police recovered two headless bodies without any clothes on them, one from Jakhora village and the other from Bahadurgarh. One of the hands had the name Vijay Swami inscribed on it. Around 1 p.m., the Haryana police enquired from their Delhi counterparts, who confirmed that one of the bodies could be of the informer who had gone missing with the Sub-Inspector on Friday. Senior Crime Branch officers then went to Haryana and concluded that the other torso was that of the Sub-Inspector. Meanwhile, the Delhi police recovered two charred heads at Tikri Village in Nangloi. The police suspect that they were of Satish and Vijay, a Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited employee who was a police informer. The police have detained two person, Joginder and Rajinder, for questioning. They suspect the hand of some Sansi gang members behind the incident. Initial investigations have revealed that someone had leaked the information about the police raid at Mangolpuri on Friday night to the criminals. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered at the Mangolpuri police station and a massive hunt has been launched for the culprits. The police today announced an extraordinary pension of Rs. 2 lakhs, Rs. 2 lakhs from the United Trust of India and additional financial support of Rs. 5 lakhs to the next of the kin of Satish. The Delhi police would also induct one of his relatives as per eligibility on compassionate grounds. The police, including the Crime Branch, are conducting raids across Haryana and the Capital. The post-mortem on the bodies was conducted at Sanjay Hospital in North-West Delhi this evening.
