Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the passing of the Permanent Resident (Disqualification) Bill by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, denying women their status as permanent residents if they marry a non-resident of the State. It is a pity that the PDP and the Congress, which have Mehbooba Mufti and Sonia Gandhi at the helm, have allowed such a bill to be passed. Does International Woman's Day (which falls today) hold any significance for us?
Kanika Gupta,
* * * Sir, Such discrimination against women continues to keep us in the dark ages.
Srinivas S.,
