CUDDAPAH, MARCH 7. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Governments were making tall claims on women empowerment, which was still a far cry and it could only be achieved through an agitation, the district CITU president, A. Raghunatha Reddy, and vice-president, I. N. Subbamma, said on Sunday. The International Women's Day being observed since 92 years should be observed as a movement day rather than in a ritualistic manner, they said. Refuting the charge of the Union Minister, Sushma Swaraj, that the Women's Reservation Bill did not see the light of the day owing to lack of cooperation by the Opposition, they alleged that the Bill failed to come up due to indifferences between the BJP and its allies.
