CUDDAPAH, MARCH 8. The former Proddatur MLA, N. Varadarajulu Reddy, of the Congress on Monday asserted that his counterpart from the Kamalapuram, constituency, M.V. Mysoora Reddy, too had promised free power supply in several election meetings, but had now retracted his statement after joining the TDP. Speaking to newsmen at Proddatur, Mr. Reddy alleged that Dr. Mysoora Reddy `mastered' the art of praising the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, soon after he crossed over to the ruling party. He deplored Dr. Reddy, who completed 25 years in the Congress for describing the 110-year-old party a `private limited company'. It would be apt to describe the TDP in such a manner, as it was a `one-man show', he remarked. Mr. Reddy stated that the free power promise was included in the Congress manifesto for the 1999 Assembly elections and that Dr. Mysoora Reddy had talked about it in umpteen election meetings.
