Cuddapah
By Our Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH, MARCH 8. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, will achieve a hat-trick by regaining power with a thumping majority, asserted the former Kamalapuram MLA, M. V. Mysoora Reddy. Addressing a function in connection with the International Women's Day organised by the Telugu Desam Party's Cuddapah constituency coordination committee here, Dr. Reddy said Mr. Naidu was unique in creating awareness among women and economically empowering them. He called upon women to vote the TDP to power. The former Cuddapah MLA, S. A. Khaleel Basha, said Mr. Naidu was striving to transform the State into `Swarnandhrapradesh' with the support of women. The all round progress of women was achieved during the nine-year TDP rule by promoting the DWCRA scheme. Women must not only be economically empowered but also turn literate, he observed. Nearly 8,000 women were given house site pattas in Cuddapah constituency, he added. The district TDP president, K. Sivananda Reddy, said women were accorded priority in allotment of house sites, houses, loans and literacy programme under the TDP rule. Earlier, the leaders offered prayers at Sri Rajarajeswari Temple here and hoisted the party flag nearby. The Cuddapah Market Committee chairman, P. Manohar Reddy, the district Wakf Board Chairman, S. Jeelani Basha, the Telugu Mahila district president, C. Lakshmi Devi, the TDP State secretary, S. Goverdhan Reddy, the Telugu Yuvatha leader, Chengarayulu, and several women participated.
