DPI banners damaged

By Our Special Correspondent

VILLUPURAM, MARCH 8. Three cloth banners of the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI), carrying the portrait of its leader, Thol. Tirumavalavan, were found damaged at Chinnasalem near here today.

The banners were put up in connection with the State-level conference of the DPI scheduled to be held at Salem on March 14.

About 50 DPI men gathered in front of the police station and urged the police to take action against those who had damaged them. On their complaint a case was registered. The banners were removed and kept in the police custody as proof for the case.
