BANGALORE, MARCH 8. The Agriculture Minister, H.K. Patil, who had a meeting with the AICC President, Sonia Gandhi, in New Delhi recently, told presspersons here today that he was hopeful that party loyalists would be nominated to contest the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, despite the entry of people from other parties into the Congress. Asked what the response of Ms. Gandhi was to his views and complaints on issues such as social justice and party matters, Mr. Patil said it was good, and he was confident that they would be considered by the party leadership. Asked whether he had brought to her notice the "feudal attitude" of the Urban Development Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, as alleged by the Cooperation Minister H. Vishwanath, Mr. Patil said he did not want to say anything on the controversy. He also said he did not want to react to remarks made by C.K. Jaffer Sharief.
