Temperature
MADURAI, MARCH 8. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 35.8 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 22 degree Celsius.
Two killed in accident
They sustained injuries and were rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital. While Rajaram and Sivakumar (the autorickshaw driver) were declared "brought dead," the condition of Dhanakumar was said to be critical.
Suicide alleged
The police said A. Rajendran (33) of Thanakankulam took the extreme step owing to domestic problems. He consumed pesticide after offering poisonous drink to R. Surya (6), R. Manikandan (5) and R. Moovendran (3), on Sunday night. They were rushed to the GRH where Rajendran died. The condition of Surya was said to be critical.
Woman passenger dies
According to the police, C. Chitra (32) of Kalavasal boarded the train in Tiruchi along with their family members. She complained of chest pain near Dindigul and fell unconscious. On information, railway authorities here arranged for doctors at the Dindigul railway station, who examined the patient and declared her dead. The body was shifted to the residence of the bereaved family in an ambulance, the sources added.
