NIZAMABAD, MARCH 9. A housewife allegedly battered to death her husband after a petty quarrel in the Mujahidnagar area of Nizamabad town late last night. The police said a scooter mechanic, Shaik Moin (38), and his wife, Ayesha Begum, had frequently quarrelled over petty issues. For the last three days, the couple has been having heated arguments. Last night also Moin picked up a row with his wife and allegedly beat her. In a fit of rage, the woman picked up a stone and allegedly hit her husband on the head. The victim collapsed in a pool of blood. The relatives of the victim rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital, here, where he succumbed to the injuries. The five-town police took the victim's wife into custody. She reportedly told the police that her husband used to harass her everyday and she had hit him with a stone. The rural CI, Venkat Reddy, visited the scene of offence.
