Trains diverted

KOCHI, MARCH. 9. The Thiruvananthapuram-Palakkad-Thiruvananthapuram Amritha Express and Thiruvananthapuram-Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Express have been diverted through Kayankulam-Alappuzha on Saturday. This is in view of the electrification work between Thiruvalla and Chenganoor, the Railway PRO has informed.

Students injured

About 35 school children sustained minor injuries after a private bus rammed into the rear of their school bus near the Tripakoodam Temple, Mulanthuruthy, this morning. The Mulanthuruthy Police said that the incident took place at 8-25 a.m. A case has been registered.

Dak adalat

The dak adalat of the Aluva Postal Division will be held on March 26 at the divisional office. Complaints must be sent to V A Kumaran, senior superintendent of post offices, Aluva Division. `Dak Adalat' must be superscribed on the cover.

Last date extended

The last date for sending lateral entry examination form to the IGNOU headquarters, New Delhi, for admission to the Master in Computer Application programme is March 31. The application forms can be had from the Regional Centre, Kochi and study centres at IMG, Vikas Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

KGOA meet

The 22nd annual district meeting of the KGOA began today at the Mas Auditorium here. A seminar on `The details of the modernising the Government scheme' was held as part of the seminar.

Excel cards issued

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has released the first set of the pre-paid Excel SIM cards. Applicants up to serial number 600 who had made their bookings at the Customer Service Centre, BSNL Bhavan, on February 20 can collect the cards from the Centre. Excel cards are available for applications up to serial number 200 at the Muvatupuzha and up to 312 at the Thodupuzha centres.

Education fair

An education fair on opportunities for higher studies in New Zealand will be held here in September.The trade development manager of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Jugnu Roy, told a press conference here today that higher education in New Zealand was cheaper compared to similar facilities in other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom and ensured high quality.
