CHENNAI, MARCH 9. Sangarsh 2004, a movement started last year by the Rotaract Club of the College of Engineering, Guindy, organised cultural shows by movie stars such as Srikkanth, Dhanush and director Bala, besides a fusion music performance by schoolboy Satyanarayana on the piano. At the programme held here on Sunday, students of Valliammai Engineering College participated in the effort to raise funds for Cancer Institute, Adyar. On the occasion, the Rotaract Week celebrations were also launched. Students had an interactive session with the movie stars. Later, Pratap Rao of Rotaract Club of CEG and Govind of Valliammai Rotaract Club handed over a cheque for Rs. 50,000 to Rajasekar of the Cancer Institute. Ramalingam, Commandant, Central Reserve Police Force; Chandrasekaran, president, Rotary Club of Madras South, and Ananthakrishnan, president, Rotary Club of Madras North, participated in the inaugural ceremony.
