JAIPUR, MARCH 10. Two institutions run by the Modi Institute of Education and Research at Lakshmangarh in Sikar district of Rajasthan have been declared deemed universities for the next five years. The institutions are the Modi College of Engineering and Technology and Modi College of Management Studies. The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development issued a notification to this effect under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act recently. The status of deemed university on the two colleges is for the study programmes approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The courses include electronic and telecommunication engineering, computer science engineering and information technology at the undergraduate level. The post-graduate programmes are Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). The notification stated that the institutions would have to adhere to the guidelines and instructions issued by the UGC and AICTE from time to time as applicable to the deemed universities.
