Advani coming on March 16

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, MARCH 10. As part of the `Bharat Uday Yatra', the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K.Advani, will address four public meetings in the city on March 16.

The city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which initially planned nine meetings in the city has decided to restrict the number to four due to time constraint. The decision was taken at a core committee meeting held here on Wednesday.

The party leaders said a rousing welcome would be accorded to Mr.Advani when he entered the city at Erragadda. According to the tentative schedule drawn by the party, he would address meetings at Ameerpet, RTC cross-roads, Dilsukhnagar and Puranapul.

The BJP city president, Venkatramani, said the first meeting near Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet, would cover the Khairatabad and Sanathnagar Assembly constituencies, while the next meeting at RTC cross-roads covers Musheerabad, Secunderabad and Himayathnagar segments.

Similarly, the one at Dilsukhnagar would cover rural and urban segments of Malakpet while the last one at Puranapul Gandhi statue would cover the segments of Maharajgunj, Asifnagar and Charminar. "We expect each meeting to be attended by at least 20,000 people," Mr.Venkatramani said.
