EC recognises Sangma's group

NEW DELHI, MARCH 11 .The Election Commission has permitted the P.A. Sangma faction of the Nationalist Congress Party to register the People's Nationalist Party as a new political outfit.

The Commission's decision was in response to a request from Mr. Sangma to register the new party and to allot to it the `budding rose' symbol following the recognition of the group led by Sharad Pawar as the real NCP entitled to the `clock' symbol.
