MAHABUBNAGAR, MARCH 11. The reported demand of the Bharatiya Janata Party district president, T. Achary, for allocation of seven Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in the district by the Telugu Desam Party has drawn ridicule by many leaders of both parties. The BJP president at a press meet here recently said his party in the district was toying with the idea of contesting seven Assembly seas besides the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat but refused to reveal the names of Assembly segments. A few days ago, the State executive member of the BJP, N. Rajeswara Reddy, at a press conference said his party in the district might seek five Assembly segments besides asking for reallocation of the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat. But eyebrows were raised in both parties when the BJP district president announced that his party wanted to contest from seven Assembly constituencies.
