NC expels Dar

JAMMU, MARCH 11. The Opposition National Conference tonight expelled the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Chairman, Abdul Rashid Dar, from the party soon after he adjourned the House sine die without a vote on the controversial bill barring women marrying outsiders from being a permanent resident of the state.

The party also submitted a notice of no-confidence against Mr. Dar, but the Secretary of the Council refused to receive it.
