Nod for ICICI Bank issue

MUMBAI, MARCH 12. The shareholders of ICICI Bank have approved the bank's proposal to raise Rs. 3,000-3,500 crores through a domestic equity issue in the first quarter of 2004-05 to strengthen its capital base and tap the business opportunities.

"The shareholders have approved the equity issue at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) held in Vadodara and we will be filing the prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India today,'' ICICI Bank sources said.
