THRISSUR, MARCH 13. The Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) has made it clear that there has not been any decline in the stature of M. P. Parameswaran in the Parishad even though he had been suspended from the CPI(M). In a statement here today, the Parishad president, K. Papputty, and the secretary, V. G. Gopinathan, criticised the Bharathiya Vichara Kendram for its reported remarks against the KSSP for not protesting against the CPI(M) decision to suspend Mr. Parameswaran. "The Parishad does not issue statements against the decisions of other organisations. There has not been any decline in the stature and responsibilities of Mr. Parameswaran in the Parishad. The statement attacking the Parishad is the result of the frustrations caused by the failure of the efforts to create a wedge between the KSSP and other Left movement on that issue,'' the statement said. Making a strident attack on the criticisms of the Vichara Kendram that Parishad's ruin was caused by the neglect of spirituality, Prof. Pappukutty and Mr. Gopinathan said spirituality was not alien to the Parishad workers. "But our spirituality is not devoid of any connections with the material reality. Our spirituality is one which dialectically responds to the material reality.''
