Thrissur
By Our Staff Reporter
THRISSUR, MARCH 13. The writer and women's activist, Sara Joseph, has said there were clear signs of positive growth in the novel branch of Malayalam literature. Inaugurating the `Novel Carnival' book release programme organised by the D. C. Books here on Friday, Prof. Sara Joseph criticised the reported statement of the writer, M. Mukundan, that no good novel had been published in Malayalam after the Khasakinte Ithihasam. She said by such statements, Mr. Mukundan was undermining the significance of the Malayalam novels that were published after it including his own novel Dalit Yuvathiyude Kathanakatha and N. Prabhakaran's Thiyyur Rekhakal. The writers, K. Aravindakshan, Vysakhan, U. A. Khader, Ashtamurthy and Vinod Chandran were among those who spoke on the occasion.
